Chrissi McCarthy
A respected researcher, speaker, board member and strategist who champions fairness – and enjoys a hearty discussion on the topic – you may not know that Dr Chrissi McCarthy is as passionate about concrete as she is about workplace equity. Let’s find out more….
Chrissi began her career as a site engineer and manager in the construction industry, where she saw first-hand how workplace cultures and engrained, systemic behaviours shape people’s opportunities and experiences. Motivated to address these challenges, she founded what would become the Centre of Behavioural Equality in 2007, supporting organisations across the sector to improve fairness and inclusion.
Alongside her consultancy work, Chrissi completed doctoral research exploring how perceptions of fairness influence organisational responses to equality initiatives. This research led to the development of the Fairness, Inclusion and Equity (FIE) framework, which underpins COBE’s work today.
The Centre of Behavioural Equality was established to bring this research into practice – supporting our vision to make Fairness, Inclusion, and Equity a conscious strategy rather than an unconscious risk.
